Creating Space for Connection at NWTF’s First Town Hall

I seriously love my job. As Director of Education & Outreach with NWTF, a big part of what I do is to connect and build relationships with other artists and companies committed to equity and gender parity. I meet so many phenomenal humans, and then I get to introduce them to each other. But I’m just one person, you know—the real magic happens when we can all meet.

That’s why NWTF is launching a monthly Town Hall the first Tuesday of every month starting on November 2nd at 7 p.m. ET (GMT-4), held virtually via Zoom. We want to create an ongoing space for the greater NWTF community to connect, learn from each other, and grow stronger. The Town Hall is also a space where folks can give real-time feedback and suggestions about how NWTF can best serve you.

In truth, though, the part I’m most excited about is the Town Hall “afterparty!” After the official Town Hall meeting, we’ll take a short break and then shift into a casual meetup where folks can chat, network, and continue any juicy conversations that got started earlier in the evening. Equal part social and business-focused, this is the part of the evening where we’ll have a chance to get to know each other 1:1 and connect as humans as well as colleagues. I am, as they say, here for it 🙂

I hope you’ll be able to join us on November 2nd for this first Town Hall. Even if you can’t make it this first time around, you can also mark your calendars for December 7th and January 4th for the next two in the series!

We hope to see both familiar and new faces each month as the NWTF community grows stronger, and we can’t wait to hear from you about what you’re working on and how we can support each other.

Be well & happy Fall,

Rowen Haigh

NWTF Director of Education & Outreach
